JDCR Joins RRQ: Tekken Legend Gears Up for Esports World Cup 2025

RRQ is entering the Fighting Game Community (FGC) with style—and we’re kicking things off with a bang. We’re proud to welcome one of the most iconic names in Tekken history: Hyunjin “JDCR” Kim!

Why Now?

Our growth into the FGC comes at a pivotal moment. RRQ is officially part of the 2025 EWCF Club Partner Program and will be competing in the Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC 2025). And what better way to mark this journey than teaming up with a player who has defined competitive Tekken for over a decade?

Who Is JDCR?

JDCR is a South Korean fighting game legend. Born and raised in Seoul, his love for games started in arcades at age 8. His passion for Tekken ignited at 14, when his older brother introduced him to Tekken Tag Tournament. From there, it was only a matter of time before he began dominating local and international scenes.

His in-game name, “JDCR,” is actually an abbreviation of a Korean phrase that refers to his habit of playing many different characters. Still, one name stands out in his arsenal: Dragunov, the character he’s become synonymous with.

A Career Full of Wins

JDCR’s list of achievements speaks for itself:

  • EVO 2017 Champion (Tekken 7) – one of the most prestigious titles in fighting games
  • Winner of major events like Combo Breaker, NorCal StrongStyle, Electric Cancel, and DreamHack Montreal
  • Tekken 6 Global Champion (2010)
  • Top 3 at EVO 2021 Online (Asia East)
  • Multiple consistent Top 4 and Top 8 finishes at international tournaments

What sets JDCR apart is more than just trophies. He’s known for his precision, patience, and razor-sharp reads. His playstyle is calm but deadly, backed by deep matchup knowledge and a strong mental game that has outlasted meta changes across Tekken 6TTT2Tekken 7, and now Tekken 8.

The Comeback King

JDCR’s journey isn’t just about climbing to the top—it’s about staying there. After completing his mandatory military service in South Korea, many wondered if he’d return to competition. Not only did he come back, he came back strong.

As of 2023, he had already played over 300 matches in major tournaments with a 60% win rate, according to DashFight. That’s consistency on another level.

JDCR x RRQ = A New Era

JDCR officially joined Team RRQ in 2025, right as we began our new chapter in the FGC. With him on board, we’re ready to make a statement in Tekken 8—and on the global stage at EWC 2025.

But more than that, JDCR represents what we stand for: excellence, humility, and a never-ending hunger to grow. His impact on the Tekken scene is undeniable, and we’re proud to have him wear the RRQ jersey.

Welcome to the Kingdom, JDCR. Let’s make history together. 👑
