RRQ Hoshi Set to Compete at MSC 2025: Format and Challengers Revealed

The MLBB Mid Season Cup 2025 (MSC 2025) is poised to be one of the most prestigious Mobile Legends tournaments of the year. Replacing the former MLBB Southeast Asia Cup, MSC has evolved into the second international in-season major and is now part of the Esports World Cup series, further elevating its global significance.

Among the teams drawing significant attention is RRQ Hoshi. Representing Indonesia, RRQ Hoshi enters MSC 2025 as the runner-up of MPL ID Season 15 and is determined to prove their strength on the world stage. Below is an overview of the tournament format and the teams they will face.

MSC 2025 Format

MSC 2025 consists of three main stages, each designed to test the resilience and strategy of the world’s best teams.

Wildcard Stage (July 10–13, 2025)

  • 8 teams will be randomly drawn into two groups.
  • Double-elimination format, with all matches played in a best-of-three (BO3) series.
  • The top 2 teams from each group will advance to the Wildcard Playoffs.
  • Wildcard Playoffs: 4 remaining teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket, with the final played in a best-of-five (BO5) series.
  • The winner will secure the final spot in the Group Stage.

Group Stage (July 23–27, 2025)

  • 16 teams will be drawn into two groups.
  • Double-elimination format, with all matches BO3.
  • The top 4 teams from each group will proceed to the Knockout Stage, while the others will be eliminated.

RRQ Hoshi will begin their campaign in this stage, representing Indonesia alongside ONIC. They will face strong competition from leading teams including Team Liquid PH, ONIC PH, SRG OG, HomeBois, Team Flash, CFU Gaming, Ultra Legends, Corinthians, Team Spirit, Aurora Türkiye, S8UL Esports, Mythic SEAL, DianFengYaoGuai, and one team from the Wildcard Stage.

Knockout Stage (July 30–August 2, 2025)

  • 8 qualified teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket.
  • All matches will be BO5, except the Grand Final, which will be a BO7 series.

This stage will determine the MSC 2025 world champion.
