A new era of the VALORANT Champions Tour is about to begin — and RRQ will remain part of it.
Riot Games has officially revealed the 32 organizations selected for the new VCT partnership cycle for 2027 and 2028, with eight partner teams representing each of the four major regions: Americas, EMEA, China, and Pacific. Among them is Rex Regum Qeon.
RRQ will continue to represent Indonesia as one of the eight VCT Pacific partner organizations, extending the organization’s journey at the highest level of competitive VALORANT into a new era of the circuit. The announcement carries extra significance because VCT itself is changing dramatically in 2027. Partnership remains important, but it will no longer create a largely closed competitive ecosystem. Riot is opening significantly more pathways for non-partner teams to challenge established organizations throughout the season.
For RRQ, maintaining partnership status therefore brings both stability and a new responsibility: a place at the table is guaranteed, but success on the server will still have to be earned.
RRQ Selected for the 2027–2028 VCT Pacific Partnership Cycle
RRQ joins seven other organizations selected by Riot for the next two-year VCT Pacific partnership cycle:
- Rex Regum Qeon
- FULL SENSE
- T1
- Paper Rex
- Crazy Raccoon
- ZETA DIVISION
- Gen.G
- GAM Esports
The new list represents a significant reshuffling of the Pacific landscape. RRQ remains alongside familiar names such as Paper Rex, T1, Gen.G, and ZETA DIVISION, while organizations including FULL SENSE, Crazy Raccoon, and GAM Esports will also form part of the eight-team partner lineup.
At the same time, several notable organizations from the previous VCT ecosystem were not selected for the new cycle. That makes RRQ’s continued presence particularly meaningful. The organization has now been trusted to remain part of Riot’s long-term vision for professional VALORANT in the Pacific region as the ecosystem transitions into an entirely new competitive model.
More Than 100 Organizations Wanted a Place in the New VCT
Being selected was far from automatic. According to Riot Games, more than 100 organizations around the world expressed interest in joining the partnership program for 2027.
Teams submitted proposals explaining what they could contribute not only competitively, but also to VALORANT’s broader ecosystem and community. Riot then interviewed a smaller group of finalists before selecting the final 32 organizations.
Riot evaluated candidates across five main areas:
- Commitment to growing the VALORANT community
- Community resonance through fandom and content
- Business sustainability and responsible operations
- Operational excellence and established infrastructure
- Competitive success and performance development
The important word here is balance. Results matter, but partnership is not determined only by trophies or standings. Riot specifically emphasized organizations capable of building long-term connections with fans and contributing to the health of the VALORANT ecosystem beyond competition itself.
For RRQ, that makes the renewed partnership significant on multiple levels. The organization has established itself competitively in Pacific VALORANT, including winning VCT Pacific 2025 Stage 1, while continuing to carry one of Southeast Asia’s most recognizable esports identities onto the international stage. Now, that journey will continue into 2027.
The Full VCT 2027 Partner Team List
The new partnership structure features 32 organizations, split equally between the four major territories.
| Region | VCT 2027–2028 Partner Teams |
|---|---|
| Americas | LOUD, G2 Esports, NRG, Sentinels, KRÜ Esports, LEVIATÁN, MIBR, 100 Thieves |
| EMEA | Team Heretics, BBL Esports, FNATIC, Team Vitality, Team Liquid, Gentle Mates, Karmine Corp, FUT Esports |
| China | Xi Lai Gaming, Weibo Gaming, EDward Gaming, TYLOO, All Gamers, Trace Esports, Bilibili Gaming, JD Gaming |
| Pacific | Rex Regum Qeon, FULL SENSE, T1, Paper Rex, Crazy Raccoon, ZETA DIVISION, Gen.G, GAM Esports |
There are plenty of familiar names. Reigning world champions LOUD remain part of VCT Americas, alongside organizations such as Sentinels, G2 Esports, NRG, and 100 Thieves.
In EMEA, established names including FNATIC, Team Liquid, Team Heretics, and Team Vitality return, while Karmine Corp and FUT Esports are also part of the eight selected organizations.
China retains major organizations such as EDward Gaming, Bilibili Gaming, and Xi Lai Gaming.
And in Pacific, RRQ remains part of a field packed with international contenders. But the number of partners tells only half of the story.
Being a Partner No Longer Means Being Guaranteed Everything
Perhaps the biggest change for 2027 is what partnership doesn’t guarantee. Under the new VCT structure, partner teams receive direct entry into VCT Kickoff, along with financial support, access to digital revenue opportunities such as Team Capsules, and other partnership incentives.
After Kickoff, however, things become much more competitive. Partner status does not automatically guarantee participation in every Cup, Masters event, or VALORANT Champions. Teams must earn those places through results.
Riot describes the philosophy simply: the stability of partnership remains, but competitive success must still be earned on the server. That distinction will fundamentally change what it means to be a VCT partner.
RRQ begins the year with a place in the ecosystem. Where the journey goes from there will depend on performance.
Open Teams Can Now Challenge the Partners
The changes go even further. Starting in 2027, VCT Americas, EMEA, and Pacific Kickoff events will each feature 12 teams: eight partners and four teams from Open Qualifiers. For aspiring teams, this creates a much more direct road toward the highest level.
Open teams will be able to qualify for Kickoff, Cups, Masters, and even Champions without needing to first secure partnership status. Riot has also confirmed that qualifying non-partner teams will receive financial support when reaching major VCT stages.
It means 2027 will bring something VCT has rarely seen during the partnership era: established giants repeatedly facing teams with everything to prove. For partner organizations such as RRQ, the badge provides stability — but not safety. The challengers are coming.
A New Chapter for RRQ VALORANT
RRQ’s selection for the 2027–2028 partnership cycle is therefore more than simply confirmation that the team will remain in VCT Pacific. It represents another chapter in a journey that has grown significantly since the beginning of the partnership era.
RRQ has carried the Indonesian flag through VCT Pacific, reached the international stage, and proven it can compete for titles within one of VALORANT’s strongest regions. Now comes another challenge. VCT 2027 is designed to be more open, less predictable, and more unforgiving. There will be new opponents. There will be teams fighting their way into tournaments through open qualification. And even partner organizations will have to keep proving that they deserve to remain among the best.
RRQ has secured its place in the next chapter. What happens with that opportunity will be decided where it always matters most: on the battlefield.
