A New Era Begins: RRQ Tora Unveils Its Roster for MPL Malaysia Season 17

A new chapter has begun for Rex Regum Qeon.

Following the announcement that RRQ would officially enter the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY) under the league’s partnership system starting in Season 17, one major question lingered among fans across Southeast Asia: who would represent RRQ in this new arena?

That question has now been answered.

The team that will carry RRQ’s banner in Malaysia is RRQ Tora, a roster carefully assembled to reflect the increasingly interconnected nature of Southeast Asian esports. Rather than building a traditional single-nation lineup, RRQ has chosen a bold approach—bringing together talent from Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines into one cohesive squad.

This is not simply the creation of a new team.
It is the beginning of a regional project.

And as many fans had anticipated, one rumor circulating within the community has proven true.

Rendy “Dyrennn” Syahputra has officially joined RRQ Tora.

RRQ’s Regional Ambition in MPL Malaysia

RRQ’s entry into MPL Malaysia represents one of the organization’s most significant strategic moves in 2026.

For years, RRQ has been recognized as one of Indonesia’s most influential esports organizations. With the formation of RRQ Tora, the organization is now expanding its competitive footprint across Southeast Asia, reinforcing its commitment to becoming a truly regional powerhouse.

The name RRQ Tora marks the organization’s new identity within the Malaysian league.

What makes this roster particularly compelling is not only the players involved, but also the philosophy behind its construction. RRQ Tora has been built as a cross-regional team, combining players from three of the strongest Mobile Legends ecosystems in the world.

In MPL history, most teams have traditionally focused on nurturing domestic talent. RRQ, however, has taken a different path—choosing to create a roster that reflects the shared competitive culture of Southeast Asian Mobile Legends.

It is a bold vision, and one that signals RRQ’s intention to compete immediately.

Sasa Returns to Southeast Asia as Head Coach

Before unveiling the player roster, RRQ first introduced the individual who will guide the team from behind the scenes.

That responsibility belongs to Lu Khai “Sasa” Ben.

For many Mobile Legends fans in Indonesia, Sasa is already a familiar figure. He previously competed professionally with ONIC, before transitioning fully into a coaching role.

Over the past year, Sasa has broadened his experience internationally, working in China with DianFengYaoGuai (DFYG). His return to Southeast Asia now marks the start of a new chapter, as he takes charge of RRQ’s ambitious MPL Malaysia project.

With experience both as a player and a coach across multiple regions, Sasa brings a valuable perspective to a roster composed of players from different competitive backgrounds.

His leadership will be central to transforming this diverse lineup into a unified team.

RRQ Tora Roster Officially Revealed

The full roster for RRQ Tora was officially announced on March 12, 2026, during the “New Era” MPL Malaysia Season 17 press conference held in Malaysia.

Shortly after the event, RRQ confirmed the lineup through its official social media channels, including Instagram and YouTube, introducing the players who will represent the organization in its first Malaysian season.

Each member of the roster brings unique experience and regional pedigree.

Super Yoshi – Roamer

The roaming role will be filled by Czedrick “Super Yoshi” Romero from the Philippines.

Super Yoshi previously competed in the MPL Philippines with Omega Esports—one of the most competitive leagues in the global Mobile Legends scene.

Rough previously competed for:

  • Monster Vicious (MV)

As the team’s primary late-game damage dealer, his consistency in the gold lane will be critical during high-pressure team fights and decisive moments.

AJ – Midlaner / Substitute

In addition to Kymm, the team also features Muhammad Azri “AJ” Bin Jamaludin as a secondary midlane option.

AJ’s previous teams include:

Dyrennn – EXP Laner

Finally, the player many fans had been waiting for.

Rendy “Dyrennn” Syahputra will serve as the EXP Laner for RRQ Tora.

As one of Indonesia’s well-known Mobile Legends talents, Dyrennn’s inclusion immediately drew attention across the regional community. His move also ensures that Indonesian fans will closely follow RRQ Tora’s journey in the Malaysian league.

In the EXP lane, Dyrennn will play a crucial role in maintaining team balance—whether through initiating team fights, controlling side lanes, or shaping the pace of the map.

Coaching Staff

Beyond the player roster, RRQ has also assembled a strong coaching team.

Head coach Sasa will be supported by Jaycee Cariaga “L1NK” Christopher Nieles, who joins the team as Assistant Coach.
